Comments on the Military and Business Ownership
I began my military career in AFROTC at Indiana University, then served 10 years on active duty and 4 years in the reserves. I learned the incredible power of standardization via ops manuals and checklists. Also, I witnessed great communicators lead thousands of soldiers and keep them on the same sheet of music while pushing towards mission accomplishment. The best leaders communicated beyond "need to know", they sought "buy in" from their soldiers. I am a great communicator with our employees.
