Tyler Crane served 9 years in the United States Army. While serving in the military he was deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2012 while deployed to Afghanistan, his unit was attacked with a vehicle laden with explosives, and he was wounded in action. The wounds he sustained would later end his career. Throughout his career, he completed numerous leadership, and technical schools. Including, Ranger School, Pathfinder School, Air Assault, and Airborne School. His ability to coach and mentor was recognized by senior leaders, and awarded the Major General Aubrey “Red” Newman Leadership Award, and the Order of St. Maurice for great contributions to the Infantry.
